John Gromala is a senior director of Hyperscale Product Management for the HP Servers Global Business Unit within the Enterprise Group at HP. In this role he is responsible for leading product line strategy, product management and value proposition development for the Hyperscale portfolio including ProLiant SL, HPC and SP focused products, and performance optimized data center (POD) products. Most recently Gromala led the successful introduction of HP Moonshot, the world’s first software-defined server designed for the high-growth Hyperscale market consisting of Web Services, Web Hosting and High Performance Computing. Gromala has contributed to the success of HP’s Industry–standard Servers and Software organization for 19 years, including a role as director of Product Marketing for the HP ProLiant Server product line and was instrumental in the creation of HP ProLiant SL and multi-node DL products designed for scale-out customers. Prior to HP, Gromala previously held roles at Compaq in product marketing, business strategy, technology planning, design engineering and operations. He also has worked with the NASA Technology Transfer Center and the North Texas Small Business Development Center. He is registered Professional Engineer and recipient of US Patent No. 5,142,247.
